Generator connections

Generators must be connected so they cannot backfeed the network; a licensed electrician plans the method.

Do this first

• Keep clear of sparking fittings, burning smells or water near electrics.
• Do not keep resetting a safety switch or breaker that trips immediately.
• Note which rooms lost power and photograph the switchboard if it is safe.
